This review is for Live Trax 40 Blu-Ray I own a sony UBP-x800m2 and full 5.2 audio setup. I bought 40 and 44 specifically for the Blu-Ray with 5.1 mixes, so audio is my primary focus. I wrote the 44 review first, so I will compare 40 to 44. I haven't watched the full discs, but have skipped around here & there. Tech Specs: Video 1080i (upscaled from SD) Audio 1: LPCM 2ch 48/24, 2.3 Mbps Audio 2: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1ch 48kHz, ~5Mbps 18 songs, runtime 2:05:25 5.1 and Stereo mix by Rob Evans Menus are good, like the popup menu - easy to switch between songs while watching. Zero extras. The disc opens with a note that 'the SD footage has been converted to HD for a superior listening experience.' I'm glad it's on Blu-Ray, for a higher audio quality (lossless FTW) and to avoid switching discs. The video is definitely lower quality, it looks SD. The aspect ratio is a bit wider than 4:3. Stereo mix is good. Surround mix is very good overall. Surrounds are much less present compared to Live Trax #44. They're still there, but quieter. They perk up between songs. I prefer 44 always surrounding me in the crowd. The center is less discrete, but still well-used. The LR panning is nice. Again low end is just where I'd expect. I did hear some vocal effects at the start of Too Much! That's preferrable compared to 44's zero vocal effects. I only listened to a couple songs, there's never enough time...

Incredible release! The sound quality is amazing and the band is on fire!! I'm really grateful to have this and highly recommend it. Easily one of the best recordings from the Live Trax series so far.
