Dave Matthews Band played one of the longest shows in their history on July 5, 2009 in a beautiful plaza in the heart of Lucca, Italy. In the Tuscan setting surrounded by city walls dating back to the Renaissance era, the band was inspired to deliver a performance lasting almost three hours. A welcome mix of classics on the setlist served to complement the new Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King songs.
Across the Pond – DVD
“Dave Matthews Band: Across the Pond" is a concert film shot in the famed Brixton Academy in South London. Directed by Sam Erickson (The Road to Big Whiskey Documentary/44 Pictures) and filmed with 10 HD cameras in the vintage awe-inspiring theatre, this concert program takes you up close and personal with DMB in a setting reminiscent of the band’s earlier years of club and theater touring. Mixed in pristine stereo and 5.1 surround from the original multi track recordings and presented via Dolby Digital stereo audio this film is the definitive visual record of the 2009 world tour behind Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King.

I actually ordered what I thought was just the simply packaged DVD and CD'S online (used). Imagine my surprise when this book with DVD /CD'S showed up!( In mint condition, I must say!} Love Love Love it! So cool to watch them play out of the country too. I agree, this is a must-have!

This is, in my humble opinion, the best live album of DMB to date. The performances are simply fantastic, with all the musician on their best. I still can't stop listening to the sax solo of #41 and the new songs, from the Big Whiskey album, are amazing as well. The DVD was recorded not from the same show, but from other one at England and any fan of DMB will know this means completely different performances. The drum solo in Two Step is powerful! And it has the song Squirm, a great song that should be on the CDs also. The photo album is a must have for any enthusiast of the band. Resuming: stop reading this and go get one!
