I was a freshman at Mizzou and my brother called and said, “Hey, free concert at the Blue Note tonight. Come out with me?”. Who’s playing? “Rusted Root and some Dave’s Band”. Never heard of them but what the heck. I got there late and just missed the Rusted Root set, but got there in time for “Dave’s Band”. The rest is history. I have never been so completely blown away by a band in all my life. I was so excited I jumped up on stage and attempted to stage dive in the middle of the concert. Security grabbed me and had me dangling off the stage until I broke loose into the crowd (sorry Dave). I have been a fan ever since that night in October of 1994, buying their album, “Underneath the Table and Dreaming”. Never have I experienced what I experienced that night in a concert. I was just a few feet from the stage and just rocking out to music I have never heard before and witnessing greatness! Completely amazing and so elated that there is a recording of it! I started listening to the samples and got goosebumps! What a night to remember and witness! Love it!
